Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari, has named a new executive secretary for the country’s Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC).
Reverend Yakubu Pam was announced recently by a presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, as the new boss of the commission.
The appointment took effect from June 26.
He takes over from Tor Uja, who was relieved of the position in August 2019 for allegedly diverting the commission’s funds six month earlier.
Pam, 60, was until his appointment the Chairman of the Plateau State Christian Pilgrim Board.
The new NCPC secretary hails from Gyel, Jos South LGA of Plateau State.
He holds a degree in Christian Education.
Pam has held many leadership positions in the Christian circles, among which is Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) of Northern Nigeria (which includes the 19 Northern States and Abuja) from 2016 to date.
He is also the vice president, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria from 2013 to date and District Superintendent, Jos mainland Assemblies of Nigeria from 2010 to date.
