The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has again warned unless fervent prayers are offered to God, natural disasters would occur in Nigeria, as never witnessed in the past.
Adeboye spoke on Friday while delivering a sermon at the February edition of the Holy Ghost Service at the Redemption Camp, along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The theme of the Service was “Let there be Light.”
The foremost cleric recalled that at the beginning of 2020 that there would be natural disasters across the globe, including Nigeria but that prayers could be offered to avert them.
He had said at the time that God revealed to him that earthquakes and volcanoes which had been dormant for years would erupt this year, saying “the reason is due to sin; sin is becoming more rampant.”
He also prophesied that there would be change of governments all over the world, stating that while some changes would be peaceful, others would be violent.
At the Holy Ghost Service last Friday night, Adeboye said, “At the beginning of this year, you heard me say what the Lord said that on the international scene there would be fire outbreaks, storms, floods, earthquakes, volcanoes, that what happened in the past was child’s play. How many of you remember that?
“If you follow the news all over the world you can see what is already happening. But then I told you at that time that Nigeria is part of the international scene. We are part of the world.
“And if you look at what has happened in January, just one month, the number of fire outbreaks, houses burning, markets burning, government houses burning, fire outbreaks near this airport, that airport, and if the Lord says we haven’t seen anything yet, then we need to pray.
“Because I told you at that time that we don’t even have the means to cope with any serious fire outbreak. We don’t have the equipment to deal with any major flood; we don’t even have anything to handle a major storm.
“If all of a sudden the ocean should come in, where will our people in Lagos go?”
Adeboye consequently led the congregants to pray against any disaster that may befall the country.
“I am going to ask you to join me in praying,” he said. “That this aspect of the prophecy be cancelled. If it is cancelled, and nothing happens at the end of the year, call me a false prophet. I am not a prophet anyway; I am a pastor.
“But if what God told me, if what I heard should come to pass, how would Nigeria cope?
“They told us that there was a little earth tremor in Abuja of all places. You know what earth tremor is, that is baby earthquake. We can’t deal with the mother earthquake. We don’t have the equipment. We don’t have the means. We don’t have the means to take care of a major fire outbreak. We can’t deal with a major flood. We can’t deal with a major storm. Please, stand on your feet and join me in crying to this our God. Father, have mercy on Nigeria.”
