John Jonah, outgoing deputy governor of Bayelsa State, South South Nigeria, said God recently delivered him from a surgical operation that lasted over seven hours in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The Nation newspaper (Nigeria) reports that Jonah disclosed this on Sunday while giving testimony at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM) in Yenagoa, the state capital.
“There were even rumours that I was taken abroad in an air ambulance which was not correct. I made it because of God’s grace upon my life and I decided to thank God publicly. I have since gone back for a follow-up check and I am confirmed medically fit,” he said.
Jonah also expressed gratitude to a former Secretary to Bayelsa State Government, Serena Dokubo-Spiff, for visiting him in Dubai.
The Regional Overseer of MFM, Pastor Taiwo Oladimeji, while delivering a sermon, asked Christians to always be grateful to God.
He said thanksgiving should be done daily.
Jonah has been deputy to Governor Seriake Dickson since 2012. Both will leave office in February when their tenure would expire.
