Fiery Nigeria preacher, Apostle Johnson Suleman, said he has survived eight attempts to kill him since he became a minister of the gospel.
Suleman, 54, disclosed this recently while delivering a sermon.
The senior pastor of Omega Fire Ministries (OFM), said of the eight assassination attempts, only one was known to the public because he chose to speak on it having lost some of his associates in that incident.
Suleman further narrated how a man bearing a revolver walked into his office at the church’s headquarters in Auchi, Edo State and shot him but the bullet refused to come out.
“I have survived eight assassinations. You only heard about one. You only saw one and that one you saw it because I spoke. That one you saw it because I lost people, that is why I spoke out.
“People wonder why we have people (security aides) that ransacked people and all that. Sir, somebody walked into my office and brought out a revolver to my face and the bullet would not come out. (He) tried and tried because there is a covenant that will not let a gun detonate in front of me,” he said.
The popular apostle said he has always found solace in the word of God in Hebrew 2: 14 -15.
The known incident
It will be recalled that in October 2022, some gunmen opened fire on his convoy near Auchi, killing six persons comprising two drivers, three policemen, and a female house help. Another house help was critically injured.
At the time of the incident, Suleman’s wife and children were in the same vehicle in the convoy but they all escaped the bullets targeted at them.
The cleric had ended a programme in Tanzania two days earlier and had flown to Lagos and then to Benin where his children joined him in the vehicle.
The assassins reportedly drove in a Toyota Avalon car and an ash coloured Sienna vehicle without plate numbers.
