On Good Friday, American gospel singer, Ron Kenoly, thrilled worshippers at the Worship, Word and Wonders (WWW) night, the monthly night service of Dunamis International Gospel Centre (DIGC), Abuja, the Nigerian capital.

Kenoly, who will be 80 years old by December, sang his song and some local gospel tunes to the admiration of the worshippers who yearned for more.

The Worship, Word and Wonders service is held on the last Friday night of every month.

This March edition was themed, “It is Finished” to commemorate the death at cross of Jesus Christ some 2000 years ago. It has in attendance people from 24 nations of the world.

The candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Nigeria’s 2023 presidential election, Peter Obi, was also in attendance.

Kenoly first came on stage at about 1.40 a.m. on Saturday and ministered for one hour forty minutes.

Some of the songs he sang were Lift Him Up, I love you Lord and some local Nigerian tunes like Everything na double double, Na so so wonder Jesus dey do, Wamilere Wamilere, and Why I no go make yanga.

He later mounted the stage again for about 10 minutes. Thereafter, other gospel ministers – Nene Olajide and Prospa Ochimana – ministered.

The following day, Saturday Kenoly flew into Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, South-South Nigeria where he performed at the branch of Dunamis Church in that town on the evening of Sunday 31 March.

It was the second time Kenoly will be performing at Dunamis programme though he has been to Nigeria multiple times. He had performed at a vigil organised by the church at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja in July 2007.

Born on December 6, 1944, Kenoly has been in the gospel singing ministry for over four decades.

During this period, he waxed many albums. They include Jesus is Alive, Lift Him Up, God is Able, Sing Out with One, Welcome Home, High Places, The Best of Ron Kenoly, Majesty, We Offer Praises, The Perfect Gift, Dwell in the House and Solo Para Ti.
