A copy of the Bible has been saved from a fire that engulfed a truck in Houston, United States.

Christian Headlines reports that Trina Carr was driving her newly purchased truck on Sunday when it suddenly exploded in flames and smoke.

She had pulled into a parking lot when she realized the truck was issuing out smoke and quickly disembarked from the vehicle.

The newspaper quoted Houston Chronicle as saying that the fire was eventually put out by The Deer Park Fire Department.

It further stated that the department searched the truck after the flames died only to discover that the truck dashboard had burnt into ashes and melted plastic, engine and passenger compartments but a Bible and notebook on the dash remained completely intact.

They discovered that only the back cover of the Bible had minimal damage and a little water.

Carr and her husband, Mike, were full of praises to God for not only saving her life but also protecting her Bible, the word of the living God. They also thanked DPFD for early response to the accident.

Many thanks for my brothers in DPFD for extinguishing my truck,” Trina’s husband, Mike said. “They arrived quickly and had it out in no time. Thanks be to God my wife was able to pull over and get out in time.

“Thank you Tommy Archer, Philip Arroyo, Don Davis, Brett Conaway, and all the rest of DPFD. That is amazing the Bible in the truck didn’t burn at all. God Bless.”

Christian Headlines also reported that copies of the Bible survived Tornadoes that hit Nashville, Tennessee on March 3.

Quoting USA Today, the newspaper reported that the following day hundreds of additional volunteers headed for hard-hit neighbours to help homeowners and renters sift through debris to find belongings and mementoes.

Found in the debris were Bibles, one of them inscribed with the name of the owner and the date. The inscription suggests the owner was marking a birthday or another event.

The newspaper reported that in Putnam country, which was the hardest hit with 18 deaths, no page of the Bible found was torn.
