{"id":900,"date":"2020-06-15T23:56:45","date_gmt":"2020-06-15T22:56:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thechristian.ng\/?p=900"},"modified":"2020-06-15T23:56:45","modified_gmt":"2020-06-15T22:56:45","slug":"16-year-old-christian-stabbed-and-stoned-to-death-in-india","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thechristian.ng\/?p=900","title":{"rendered":"16-year-old Christian stabbed and stoned to death in India"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_705\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-705\" style=\"width: 205px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-705\" src=\"https:\/\/thechristian.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Map-Of-India.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"205\" height=\"245\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-705\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Map of India<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3>A 16-year-old Christian, Sambaru Madkami, has been stoned and stabbed to death in East India for his faith, Morning Star News is reporting.<\/h3>\n<h3>Madkami\u2019s mutilated body was found on June 5 buried in the jungle of Malkangiri, about six kilometers from his village of Kenduguda, Makkangiri District, Odisha State.<\/h3>\n<h3>A source said he had been seized the previous day by the village animists after they resolved to kill the male heads of the three Christian families in the village that meet in Sambaru\u2019s house.<\/h3>\n<h3>The village, according to the report, has 210 families but only the three families meet.<\/h3>\n<h3>According to the source, about seven villagers came to Sambaru\u2019s family house at about 11pm and called his father but he (father) was not around because he was staying overnight at a relative\u2019s house on his way to the hospital several kilometres away for his daughter\u2019s treatment.<\/h3>\n<h3>The source said Sambaru was then abducted.<\/h3>\n<h3>\u201cThey took him a few meters further, where a huge mob was waiting for him,\u201d the source said. \u201cThey tied his hands and started beating him.\u201d<\/h3>\n<h3>It was also gathered that they went to two other houses thereafter to abduct their heads but the targets escaped.<\/h3>\n<h3>\u201cThey had come for me but I was not at home. I had taken my daughter who was sick to the doctor,\u201d Unga Madkami, father of Sambaru, confirmed.<\/h3>\n<h3>Before his death, Sambaru had been leading daily meetings of a house church, whose pastor lives in another town.<\/h3>\n<h3>The pastor reportedly attend service in the church only twice a month because of the growing hostility from the villagers.<\/h3>\n<h3>The deceased was supposed to be in the hostel at his school in Bhejaguda but because of the COVID-19 lockdown.<\/h3>\n<h3>\u201cSambaru knew the word of God the most from among us.
