U.S. President, Donald Trump, has lamented the manner Christians in the country are treated by politicians, saying they are not treated like other faiths, Christian Headlines reports.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m somebody that believes in faith,\u201d Trump said during Coronavirus Task Force briefing on April 18. \u201cAnd it matters not what your faith is, but our politicians seem to treat different faiths very differently.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2026.I don\u2019t know what happened with our country, but the Christian faith is treated much differently than it was and I think it\u2019s treated very unfairly.\u201d<\/p>\n

A Christian, Paul Sperry, had in a tweet, said he would watch if U.S. authorities would enforce the social distancing orders for mosques during Ramadan as they did churches during Easter.<\/p>\n

Ramadan fast holds from April 23 to May 23. Trump, who retweeted in response said it was directed at politicians, not imams.<\/p>\n

The president was asked if he believed Islamic leaders \u201cwouldn\u2019t follow social distancing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, I don\u2019t think that at all,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Clarifying \u201cI just spoke (on phone) with leaders and people that love mosques; they love mosques. But I would say that there could be a difference. And we\u2019ll have to see what will happen because I\u2019ve seen a great disparity in this country. I\u2019ve seen a great disparity.\u201d<\/p>\n

The president made reference to \u201ca very strong anti-Israel bent in Congress with Democrats\u201d that would have been \u201cunthinkable seven or 10 years ago.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
