Kidnapped Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Adamawa State, Reverend Lawan Andimi, has requested for prayers, FaithWire has reported.<\/p>\n

The heavily armed Boko Haram insurgent on Thursday attacked Michika in the Northeastern state of Adanawa and opened fire on the community prompting many to run into the bush.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The attack came barely a week after the insurgents attacked a Christian-dominated village, near Chibok on December 24 killing no fewer than seven people.<\/p>\n
The attack on Michika is coming almost a year after Boko Haram gunmen attacked the border community and killed nearly a dozen on March 28, 2019.<\/p>\n
Michika shares borders with some Borno communities like Gwoza, Askira Uba, which are volatile areas where insurgents\u2019 activities are still on.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Persecution Watchdog, Open Doors USA, said Boko Haram released a video of Reverend Andimi, calling on the government to help secure his freedom.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
In the video, the cleric could be heard asking his family not to \u201csorrow for him, since God\u2019s will must be respected.\u201d<\/p>\n
