Nigerian pastor and founder of the LoveWorld Church aka Christ Embassy, Chris Oyakhilome, has revealed why some of the country\u2019s popular gospel singers left his church.<\/p>\n

Although he did not mention the singers’ names, Pastor Oyakhilome made the revelation amid speculations as to the reason for the exit of Osinach Egbu (aka Sinach), Frank Edwards, Joe Praize, Emmanuel \u2018Eben\u2019 Benjamin, and others from the church.<\/div>\n

The cleric spoke\u00a0during Season 11, Phase 2 of \u2018Your LoveWorld\u2019, held on February 5\u00a0 and uploaded on the church\u2019s YouTube page on Friday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He said he allow them to exit the church because they were not fulfilling the mission God ordained for Christians.<\/div>\n

\u201cEverything changed\u2014the music in the church became worldly, and instead of worshipping God, they danced and celebrated themselves. How many of those singers were soul winners? They were not soul winners. They would lead praise in the church, but when it was time for prayer, they would leave to perform in another church.<\/div>\n

“They were professionals making money from the church, charging for their singing while pretending to minister to God.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
“Many pastors didn\u2019t realise that this was how the world was creeping into the church, and instead of stopping it, they helped to celebrate them.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
“At first, I also celebrated them. But when I changed, they refused to change with me. I had to let them go because God was getting my attention, telling me this wasn\u2019t the right path. I returned and told them that if anyone had celebrated them, I did. But now, the Lord asks us to do the right thing,\u201d Oyakhilome said.<\/div>\n

The cleric said the gospel singers were not committed to soul winning despite showing them the right way.<\/div>\n

\u201cI showed them the right way through Scripture, but by then, they had become too popular and were making money\u2014not even big money\u2014because they don\u2019t truly understand wealth.<\/div>\n

\u201cYet, the little money they were making was too attractive, and their hearts became overcharged. They didn\u2019t want to follow me in the direction God was leading us, so they chose a different path. I hope they repent because I warned them they were heading in the wrong direction. The same churches that are inviting them now will one day stop once those churches also repent and start doing the right thing.\u201d<\/div>\n

Oyakhilome noted that many gospel singers had strayed from God\u2019s work by referring to themselves as \u2018worship leaders.\u2019<\/div>\n

According to him, before the singers left, he asked them to amend their ways and counsel them on what faithful ministry is all about.<\/div>\n

\u201cThose who move from one place to another, parading themselves as worship leaders, follow a false path. There is no such thing as a worship leader ministry\u2014Satan was the only one who had that role, and God fired him.<\/div>\n

“True praise happens in the house of God, not through \u2018Minister So-and-So\u2019 travelling from place to place, collecting money to minister and claiming to be called. Stop paying them and see what happens\u2014their so-called ministry will retire quickly. So, let us follow the things of the Spirit as the Bible teaches us.”<\/p>\n
