General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM), Pastor William Kumuyi, has asked God to give President Donald Trump the wisdom to rule the United States.<\/p>\n

He also prayed that God should grant American church and its leaders to unity, revival, knowledge, vision and forthrightness to speak the truth to power.<\/p>\n

Kumuyi offered the prayer during a praise and prayer session on Sunday January 19 at President Donald Trump\u2019s Inaugural Prayer and Praise Convocation in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n

The Christian<\/em> reported that the 83-year old clergyman was invited<\/a> to the event two weeks ago. His invitation was confirmed by a prominent US public relations firm, A. Larry Ross Communications.<\/p>\n

President Trump was inaugurated for a second term on January 20. He was president between 2017 and 2021.<\/p>\n

Kumuyi said, \u201cLet us pray, Almighty God. We thank You and bless Your name. What a great and glorious God you are. And what a gathering we have this afternoon. I want to thank You, Lord, for the church in America. You said, upon this rock, You would build Your church \u2013 not just for that generation but for every generation, and You say the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.<\/p>\n

\u201cLord, we come in preparation for the celebration of Donald Trump, the president tomorrow. We\u2019re asking that You will grant him wisdom, and You will grant the church the unity, the revival, the knowledge, the vision, and the forthrightness to speak the truth to power. And we pray, as You connect the church with the leader, that it will be a pleasing unity, that You will help the President, and that the church will remain the church.<\/p>\n

\u201cRevive Your church, restore Your church, and purge Your church so that there will be the holiness and the righteousness You expect for Your church, and the church will have a meaningful ministry in the government and America.\u201d<\/p>\n

While in the US, the popular pastor met with top US clerics and media representatives to discuss partnerships to advance global evangelism and shared photos from the meeting.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the meeting, Kumuyi said, \u201cIt was a great meeting with Congressman Robert Pittinger and Pastor Lucas Miles of Turning Point USA yesterday, discussing how we can partner together for global evangelism as we prepare for the Inauguration of President Donald J. Trump. The harvest is plentiful; let\u2019s pray for open doors and hearts ready to receive the Gospel. We believe in the power of the Gospel to transform lives and nations. Exciting times ahead!\u201d<\/p>\n

Pastor Garlow, founder and CEO of Well Versed, a ministry to government officials, also explained that Trump\u2019s Inaugural Prayer and Praise Convocation was not \u201can ecumenical gathering.\u201d<\/p>\n

He stated, \u201cWe\u2019re a Bible people. This is not an interreligious service. We will not pray to Allah or Buddha but to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. This is not a prayer breakfast which is tall on breakfast and short on prayer.\u201d<\/p>\n
