U.S. Republican Party presidential candidate and former president, Donald Trump, says he has become more of a believer since the attempted assassination on his life.<\/p>\n
Trump made the comments during an interview with American tech billionaire, Elon Musk.<\/p>\n
The presidential hopeful survived an assassination attempt during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July.<\/p>\n
A lone shooter had targeted a bullet at him but missed. The bullet only grazed his ear.<\/p>\n
Trump, according to a report by Christian Daily International-Morning Star News, described his survival as a \u201cmiracle.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI knew immediately that it was a bullet. I knew immediately that it was at the ear, because it, you know, it hit very hard, but it hit the ear,\u201d he recalled.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe bigger miracle was that I was looking in the exact direction of the shooter, and so it hit me at an angle that was far less destructive than any other angle. So that was the miracle.\u201d<\/p>\n
The former president said he was glad he \u201cwent down\u201d after being struck.<\/p>\n
He said the impact of the incident had boosted his spirituality.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor those who don\u2019t believe in God, I think we\u2019ve got to all start thinking about that. Now, I am more of a believer, I think. And a lot of people have said that to me. A lot of great people have said that to me, actually,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut it was amazing that I happened to be turned just at that perfect angle, and all because I put down a chart on immigration that showed that the numbers were so great.\u201d<\/p>\n
Trump also attacked President Joe Biden\u2019s tenure, saying \u201cNow (people) really feel unsafe, because you have a form of crime. It\u2019s called \u2018migrant crime.\u2019 I call it Biden migrant crime,\u2019 maybe I\u2019ll call it Kamala migrant crime.\u201d<\/p>\n
Musk, X CEO, appeared to have agreed as he said people \u201cdon\u2019t even bother reporting\u201d crime \u201cbecause they know people aren\u2019t going to get prosecuted.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added, \u201cThey just let violent criminals out in New York,\u201d even as Trump responded, \u201cThe only one that gets prosecuted is Donald Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n
