Founder and General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Christian Ministry (DLCM), Pastor William Folorunsho Kumuyi, has narrated how his healing ministry began.<\/p>\n

Kumuyi, 83, while delivering a sermon, said after he was saved, he read a book by the late Evangelist T.L. Osborn, and listened to two recorded messages of the late Evangelist Morris Cerullo, which spurred him into healing ministry.<\/p>\n

He also said before he began the healing ministry he got revelations from God, and sometimes saw himself addressing crowds.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet me tell you my secret. Many years ago, after I was saved, I wanted to preach to people. I didn\u2019t understand what it takes. And God showed me a revelation, I saw multitudes of people and in that revelation, I was wearing my best clothes. I saw myself addressing crowds. At that time, I didn\u2019t understand.<\/p>\n

\u201cI went on living my Christian life, reading my Bible and praying to be a good Christian. I prayed to be a good believer, good Christian. All of a sudden, there were many other Christian activities I concentrated on. And I was glued to them and nothing could take it from me or take them from me.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut all of a sudden, I saw that all those activities I was into, they were not reaching any soul. I enjoyed them but they did not make me profitable to the kingdom. And so all of a sudden, I found myself praying to God, saying O\u2019 Lord, I abandon all these good things, but not productive. And I concentrated on prayer and I concentrated on some models of evangelism outreach.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had studied Mathematics at the university and I know how I studied to make a first class in Mathematics in my first degree. So, I came across one book \u201cHealing the Sick\u201d by T.L. Osborn. And I took that book as if I was in Mathematics class. I read it, I studied it, I marked it. If you see that first copy now of \u201cHealing the Sick\u201d by T.L. Osborn, it is almost torn apart. But after some years, I got a new copy. And I studied and I read. After a few years, I got another copy. But I have not started evangelising or praying for the sick.\u201d<\/p>\n

Healings during Bible study<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kumuyi recounted that while as a lecturer at the prestigious University of Lagos, he established a Bible study group where he noticed that some members were getting their healings.<\/p>\n

According to him, some of the attendees would tell him they were healed during the study. He said he was surprised to hear them talk about how they received their healing.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe some of the Bible study members in our Bible study then, they will see me at the university because I was still lecturing. They say \u2018Good morning sir, I will say\u201d how did you know me?\u2019 They said, \u2018I came to the Bible study and I was very sick and while you were preaching, just teaching Bible study, I got healed. I said what? I said tell me the truth, is it true?<\/p>\n

\u201cAnother time somebody came to the Sunday service and I was praying and then I was saying what I didn\u2019t plan to say. I said ‘that woman there, I command you evil spirit to come out there.’ And the Lord opened the eyes of the woman. She had been having a demonic spirit controlling her life for 18 years.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd the Lord opened her eyes and the spirit came out. But when it came out it stayed in one place. I didn\u2019t see anything and I didn\u2019t plan to say what I was saying. I said \u2018evil spirit, keep on moving, don\u2019t stay there. I said go out of that place.\u2019 The members of the church were wondering \u2018what is he saying today?\u2019 The Lord opened the eyes of that woman and the spirit kept moving and I said don\u2019t come back there.<\/p>\n

Using Morris Cerullo\u2019s message for crusade<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kumuyi said ahead of the first open crusade he organised, he listened and digested Cerullo\u2019s two recorded messages of the late American Pentecostal evangelist.<\/p>\n

According to him, at the middle of the crusade, a boy who had no bone in one of his legs was healed. He said God created bone in the leg and that the boy began to jump after the miraculous healing.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd then we were to have the first stadium crusade in Lagos. I got two cassettes of Morris Cerullo and for weeks before that crusade I will listen to those two messages of Morris Cerullo. I listened in the day, I listened in the night. I put the message there and while I am still sleeping, it is still playing. I saturated my mind, my spirit with those two messages.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd the day came, we were at the crusade. Remember all I had within me was the message I had. And the only way I could speak was the message I had.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo we got there, and we were to pray. I made the altar call, and people responded. I was not to pray for the sick, in a way I never ever did. While we were praying, we had not said the final prayer, Amen. I was still praying and praying and praying, O\u2019 Lord heal the sick. At the middle of the prayer, a woman, a mother began to shout. What happened? Her son, a boy, did not have any bone in one leg, only flesh. And he had one good leg and one flesh rubber leg. He will wind the flesh leg around one stick. In the middle of the prayer, he threw away the stick. God created bone in that leg.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was still praying and the boy began to run and to jump with both legs, with bones. When we finished praying, that woman jumped, that woman cried, that woman laughed, that woman danced, did everything to say God, thank you,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

You too can do it<\/p>\n

The DCLM founder encouraged his listeners to have hope that they could be used by God to bring healing to people just as he was used<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cI tell you my story so that that story will be reproduced in your life. Don\u2019t think you cannot. You can, you will. Your\u00a0own\u00a0has\u00a0started today.\u201d<\/p>\n
