Three members of The Nelons, an award winning American gospel group, have died in a plane crash.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jason Clark, his wife, Kelly Nelon Clark, their daughter Amber Kistler were killed in the crash which occurred last Friday as they travelled to a Gaither Homecoming Cruise in Alaska.<\/span><\/p>\n

Amber\u2019s husband Nathan Kistler, Melodi Hodge, and pilot Larry Haynie and his wife, Melissa, also died in the accident.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gaither Music announced the sad incident in a statement.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jason Clark, Kelly Nelon Clark, and Amber Kistler were of the four members of The Nelons, who have won three GMA Dove Awards and received multiple Grammy nominations,\u00a0Crosswalk Headlines<\/i>\u00a0reported.<\/span><\/p>\n

Autumn, the youngest daughter of the Clarks and the fourth member of the group, did not accompany them on the trip as she and her husband, Jamie Streetman, received the news of the crash upon their arrival in Seattle.<\/span><\/p>\n

Crosswalks Headlines\u00a0<\/span><\/i>reported that the accident is being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board.<\/span><\/p>\n

Autumn, in a statement, expressed appreciation to those who have been praying for her and her family.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAs many of you have heard by now, my father and mother, Jason and Kelly Nelon Clark, along with my sister, Amber, and brother-in-law, Nathan, as well as our dear friends Melodi Hodges, Larry, and Melissa Haynie, were involved in a tragic plane crash on Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThank you for the prayers that have been extended already to me, my husband, Jamie, and our soon-to-be-born baby boy, as well as Jason\u2019s parents, Dan and Linda Clark. We appreciate your continued prayers, love, and support as we navigate the coming days.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Nelons’ roots\u00a0go back to the late 70s when Kelly\u2019s father, Rex Nelon, formed The Rex Nelon Singers.<\/span><\/p>\n

The group sings a \u201cblend of gospel, a cappella, hymns, Americana, folk, and inspirational music. Among their songs are\u00a0If God Pulled Back the Curtain<\/i>\u00a0and\u00a0When Grandpa Sang Amazing Grace,\u00a0<\/i>both of which won the Dove Award in 2017 and 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n
