{"id":1405,"date":"2022-10-21T22:32:16","date_gmt":"2022-10-21T21:32:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thechristian.ng\/?p=1405"},"modified":"2022-10-21T22:32:16","modified_gmt":"2022-10-21T21:32:16","slug":"seven-killed-as-gunmen-attack-convoy-of-popular-nigerian-cleric","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thechristian.ng\/?p=1405","title":{"rendered":"Seven killed as gunmen attack convoy of popular Nigerian cleric"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1026\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1026\" style=\"width: 190px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1026\" src=\"https:\/\/thechristian.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Apostle-Johnson-Suleman.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"190\" height=\"266\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1026\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Apostle Johnson Suleman<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>About seven people were killed on Friday October 21 when gunmen attacked the convoy of a popular Nigerian cleric, Apostle Johnson Suleman,<\/p>\n<p>Punch newspaper reports that Suleman, the founder and senior pastor of the Omega Fire Ministries (OFM) with headquarters in Auchi, Edo State, South South Nigeria, was returning from a foreign trip when his convoy was attacked.<\/p>\n<p>He was returning from Tanzania in East Africa where he had just held a programme.<\/p>\n<p>Although, he escaped unhurt.by the time the attack was over, about seven people, including three policemen lay dead from the gunshots.<\/p>\n<p>Samuel Amune, lawyer to Apostle Suleman, who confirmed the incident to Punch, said the attack took place along Benin-Auchi Road<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was returning from a journey and he had almost on the shores of Auchi when some assassins attacked him. Three of his police orderlies, among others died. He travelled before and just finished a program in Tanzania.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was returning to Auchi when the gunmen attacked him along Sabingida down to Warake area, and Auchi shares direct boundary with Warake.
