South African University honours Redeemed Pastor as best police divisional officer

Taiwo Kasunmu, a Nigerian police, who is also a pastor, has been honoured by Stellenbosch University of South Africa.

Church Times reports that Kasunmu, a Chief Superintendent of Police, and a pastor in the Redeemed Church of God (RCCG) was honoured as the best Divisional Police Officer (DPO) for the year 2019.

Kasunmu was recognised for his outstanding role in curbing crime in Igando area of Lagos.

The honour was done in collaboration with Africa Security Watch.

The Executive Dean, Faculty of Military Sciences of the institution, Professor Samuel Tshehla, described Kasunmu at the event held in Lagos, as a detribalised Nigeria whose passion is to ensure a crime-free society.

Speaking on the award, Kasunmu attribute his success to God.

The police officer, who got his first and second degrees in Sociology from Lagos State University, is a Pastor in Charge of House of Wonders Area, Lagos Province 72 and also a member of the Provincial Legal Team.

He was redeployed as the Divisional Police Officer to Igando in 2018
