Founder and Senior Pastor of Omega Fire Ministries International (OFM), Apostle Johnson Suleman, says oral sex between a husband and wife does not constitute a sin, sparking a controversy on the issue.
The popular cleric made the remark during a question and answer session in his church at Auchi, Edo State, South-south Nigerian.
Although it is not clear when the service was held, the video monitored by The Christian, was uploaded on YouTube on 22 August.
According to the video, a woman asked Suleman thus; “Daddy, Sir, is oral sex a sin?”
On hearing the question, the popular cleric chuckled while some church members in attendance murmured.
However, when he summoned courage, Suleman declared, “Anything you do with your wife indoors is not a sin. As long as she is your wife and both of you agree, it is not sinful.” The answer drew further murmurings from the congregants.
Drawing from the scripture, the cleric explained, “When the Bible talks about the wife of your youth, it refers to ‘go within thy walls, let thy hands pass through her cisterns.’ As long as it’s not fetish, ritual, or diabolic, it is not a sin.”
The apostle further argued that if it is the mouth one uses to gossip and tell lies, there is nothing wrong using the same mouth to have oral sex.
“Don’t you use the same mouth to gossip? Don’t you use it to tell lies?” he asked rhetorically in Pidgin English.
Suleman, who perceived his response may draw criticisms, said, “Many will criticise me for this, but I am not perturbed. Save your home, save your home.”
He, however, urged married people to consider their spouse’s requests in private.
