A woman has testified about how she died and was on her way to eternity, but returned to life following divine intervention.
The woman, Torhile Ugosough Mbatoon, gave the testimony on the night of Friday, September 19, during a crusade organised by the Dunamis International Gospel Centre (DIGC) in Makurdi, Benue State, North Central Nigeria.
The two-day crusade, themed “Dominion,” was held at the Makurdi Central branch of the church opposite Benue State University (BSU) along Gboko Road in the state capital, from 19 September to 20 September.
The written testimony was read by Dr Becky Enenche, wife of the Senior Pastor, Dr Paul Enenche, during the testimony segment of the popular Commanding the Day Midnight Prayer (CTDMP) programme of the mega church.
Mrs Mbatton, a member of one of the DIGC branches in Makurdi, told the excited and cheering crowd that she died while delivering her baby on October 19, 2023, but upon getting to the third gate leading to eternity, Dr Paul Enenche appeared and asked her to return to the world to take care of her child.
“On the 19th, the c-session was successfully carried out, and everything seemed fine until 40 minutes later when I started experiencing severe stomach pain. I asked my sister to call the nurse. When the nurse came, she said it was beyond her and rushed to get the doctor. Before the doctor could arrive, I started bleeding heavily. I was rushed back to the theatre for examination, but the doctors couldn’t identify the source of the bleeding. They brought me back to the ward, but shortly after, the bleeding intensified and I was rushed into the theatre again. By then, I had lost a significant amount of blood, and they said I would need a fresh blood transfusion. As God would have it, they were able to get the blood. But as they administered it, it kept gushing out like water. I eventually received 28 pints of blood, but it all kept throwing out.
“At that point, my spirit left my body. I began to journey. I came to the first gate, it opened. Then to the second gate, and it opened. I was admiring the beauty when I got to the third gate, and there I met our father, Dr Pastor Paul Enenche, singing. It looked like a crusade ground. He was singing one of the songs that I love – “There’s a place my heart cries out for Lord,” Mrs Mbatoon said.
“On seeing him, I screamed, ‘Daddy, you said there shall be no loss.’ He turned to me and asked, ‘What are you doing here?’ I replied, “I don’t know.” Then he said, ‘Go back and take care of your child. You have suffered with people’s children. You can’t die like a chicken.” Immediately, I turned around and began to return. By that time, the doctors had already confirmed me dead and covered my body. They were leaving the theatre. But one of them forgot his phone and came back to retrieve it. And just then, I re-entered my body. The doctor shouted ‘This woman is still moving.” They all rushed back and began to run emergency checks. They tried to find a vein to administer blood, but couldn’t locate any until they found one on my forehead. They quickly administer blood through it.”
While Mrs Enenche read the testimony, Mrs Mbatoon, who incidentally was at the crusade ground, walked out, carrying her child, to the altar to identify herself and confirm the testimony. At this point, Dr Enenche, in joy, took the child from her while the crowd yelled.
While shedding more light on her story, the woman told the cheering and excited crowd that when the doctors confirmed her dead, her husband went in search of an ambulance to take her body away.
Commenting on the ear-tingling testimony, Dr Enenche, a medical doctor-turned clergyman, expressed gratitude to God for interrupting Mrs Mbatoon’s journey to eternity.
“That was death that God mesmerized,” he added. “How exciting it will be if the devil won’t be snatching people the way he wants to per time and God will interrupt him like this. But it is when we appreciate God for what He does that He multiplies His acts.”
The revered pastor then directed the crowd to thank God for two minutes for the testimony.

Good morning church,
I am here to return all the praise to Gof for the miracle He has done. During the February 16th crusade in 2023, when our father, Dr Pastor Paul Enenche, came around to Makurdi, I was trusting God for the fruit of the womb. He prayed for us and declared that before the end of the year, we would have our answers.
To God be the glory, before the end of February, I conceived. During the pregnancy, everything was going well. But as the month of delivery approached, fear began to set in.
I would look at the baby clothes I had bought and pray, “Lord, I don’t want to give these away. But I kept rebuking the thought. When I reached the ninth month, I was booked for a c-session on the 19th of October. I came to church on the 15th, and after the service, I met with the resident pastor to inform him. He prayed for me. I arrived at the hospital on the 18th to prepare for the procedure.
On the 19th, the c-session was successfully carried out, and everything seemed fine until 40 minutes later, when I started experiencing severe stomach pain. But as they administered it, it kept gushing out like water. I eventually received 28 pints of blood, but it all kept throwing out.
At that point, my spirit left my body. I began to journey. I came to the first gate, it opened. Then to the second gate, and it opened. I was admiring the beauty when I got to the third gate, and there I met our father, Dr Pastor Paul Enenche, singing. It looked like a crusade ground. The doctor shouted ‘This woman is still moving.” They all rushed back and began to run emergency checks. They tried to find a vein to administer blood, but couldn’t locate any until they found one on my forehead. They quickly administer blood through it.
After sometime, I was taken back to the ward. Two days later, I was asked to go for a scan. The result showed clotted blood in my stomach. And they said I would need to be operated on again. This time, a specialist was brought in. After examining me, he said it was too risky to open me up again. Instead, they decided to insert a pipe through one side of my stomach to drain the blood. After all the struggles, God saved me and my child. I am here to return all the praise to the Lord. To God alone be all the glory!
